I'm still processing the fact that fall is already here, yet eagerly in "plan" mode for two really exciting events here in Atlanta. Local peeps, be sure to mark your calendars for the following:

FIRST FRIDAY - "MEET THE ARTIST" EXHIBIT @ West Elm Market at Ponce City Market / 6 - 8pm

675 Ponce De Leon Ave NE #127, Atlanta

Step into Atlanta's swank historical mixed-use destination that was recently transformed from an old Sears warehouse into shops, restaurants, flats, and more. On the first Friday of the month, the expansive home decor store, West Elm, will showcase art from local artists Ashley Hizer / Rebekka Connelly / Jessica Rollins / Courtney Pilgrim, as well as its seasonal collection. Meet the artists, enjoy a free beer tasting from 5-7pm, and get inspired. After the event, enjoy a tasty treat from the food hall, play a round of mini golf on the rooftop, or cruise the nearby BeltLine. (I'll be there Friday night - come say hello!) It's free, but please RSVP here

VICKERY VILLAGE ARTISTS' MARKET @ The Shops at Vickery Village / 10am - 8pm

5814 North Vickery St, Cumming

The charming North Atlanta mixed-use community, Vickery Village, is known for its small town appeal yet unique shops, restaurants, parks, and one-of-a-kind homes surrounding the town center. Shop for handmade holiday gifts at the Artists' Market that will feature over 30 makers specializing in paintings, jewelry, home decor, edibles and more. When you're finished, grab a cup of coffee and walk through sprawling lakes and greenspace, plus brownstones, craftsman and European-inspired homes. (I'll be in and out throughout the weekend. Let me know if you're dropping by!) Additional details here.

I'm so excited to share that I've been asked to show some of my work at the beautiful Shain Gallery's Abstract Invitational this Thursday, August 13th from 6 to 8pm. If nothing else, go to experience the talent of some of the Southeast's most phenomenal abstract artists. I've seen some of their stuff in person, and this event is worth attending. Here's one of my pieces, Sweet Tooth, that will be displayed tomorrow night.

See you there, and follow me on Instagram for a preview of the gorgeous art displayed!

Welcome to the new site!

I'm thrilled to unveil the brand new ashleyhizer.com complete with a simple, sleek design but a few more bells and whistles to accommodate the growing biz. I hope you enjoy the work I've poured into it these last few weeks. Please visit here to view some new abstract art. I've been so busy lately playing mom, painting commissions and working on a few new exciting projects (more on that later) that I haven't had much time to dedicate to new inventory. But friends, you can expect some new pieces in the coming weeks. Yay!

What a fun year this has been thus far. Honestly, sometimes I have to pinch myself. From kicking off 2015 with the birth of my first son to amazing opportunities for my little art biz. The latest: Last month was the grand opening of Balance Design's new studio and storefront in Candler Park, a darling pocket of Atlanta. I'm honored to be the first painter featured inside the two-in-one home decor boutique/rotating gallery and interior design firm. Not only will you see my work, but some really unique photography by Michael Bryant and pottery by Chelsea Goff. If you're in the area, stop by - it's a beautiful, inspiring space.

Next event on the calendar (August, to be exact): Shain Gallery's Abstract Invitational in Charlotte, NC. I'm really excited about a few of the pieces I've selected for the show. More details on that coming soon.
